Running a marathon is a possible challenge. Health to train, exercise, run for physical and mental strength and feel young. Running makes us strong. After more than 35 years running all over the world and, after being proclaimed World Marathon Champion in 1995, twenty-five years after that achievement, I continue with the same passion for running, which has made me the first athlete in the world to win the Six Majors (New York, Tokyo, Boston, Berlin, Chicago and London) and I have achieved it in the category for the over 50 years old. Running gives me life, I feel happy with what I do, I love to share strides with the more than three thousand athletes who I hope will join me on the starting grid. Relating my athletic adventures is an aging sensation, counterbalanced by the fact that every day I maintain the physical and mental vitality to keep on putting on my running shoes and going for a run.

Vitoria-Gasteiz es una localidad de buenos deportistas y de grandes corredores. Me haría muy feliz ver el centro de la ciudad poblado de atletas maratonianos, amigos y compañeros infatigables. El público alentando a todos por igual como si se tratara de un maratón olímpico y es que este año es año olímpico, JJOO Tokio 2020. Aplausos para los primeros e igual de fuertes para los deportistas más rezagados. Este año, Elproex Vitoria-Gasteiz Maratón Martín Fiz, volvemos al centro urbano de la ciudad, un recorrido a dos vueltas diseñado por mí mismo, más llano y céntrico donde sentirás el aliento del público, apto para que cualquiera que vaya a participar consiga su mejor récord.
